B1 düzeyinde olasılığı will, may, might, should ile anlatmıştık. C1 düzeyinde ise tahminin gücünü ve kural/beklenti nüansını be bound to, be likely to, be supposed to, be meant to gibi sıfat + mastar kalıpları taşır.

Kaçınılmaz kesinlik (be bound / sure / certain to) ve Olasılık (be likely / unlikely to)
Bir şeyin olacağına dair elimizde çok güçlü bir kanıt varsa ve sonuç kaçınılmaz görünüyorsa be bound to + V1 veya be sure / certain to + V1 kullanılır: It is bound to rain («Kesin yağacak, kaçışı yok»).
Olasılık yüksek ama tam kesin değilse be likely to + V1, düşükse be unlikely to + V1 seçilir. Akademik yazıda aynı fikir It is likely that + cümle biçiminde de kurulur; her iki kalıpta da to sonrasında her zaman yalın fiil (V1) gelir.

be bound to — Doğal akışa veya eldeki kanıta göre bir şeyin olmasının kaçınılmaz, yüzde yüz kesin olduğunu anlatan C1 kalıbı.
Kural, beklenti ve amaç: be supposed to ve be meant to
be supposed to + V1 bir kurala, anlaşmaya veya ortak beklentiye göre «yapılması gereken» işi anlatır; çoğu zaman gerçekte tam tersinin yapıldığını ima eder (You are supposed to be studying!). Geçmiş hali was / were supposed to + V1 ise «yapılması planlanmıştı ama yapılmadı» demektir; olumsuzu (not supposed to) kibar bir yasak bildirir.
be meant to + V1 buna çok yakındır ama özellikle bir şeyin tasarım amacını veya niyet edilen işlevini vurgular: This button is meant to stop the machine. İki yapı da «halk arasında öyle söyleniyor» anlamında (The new film is supposed / meant to be great) kullanılabilir.
Kısayolmustn’t sert bir emir gibi tınlarken aren’t supposed to kuralı dışarıdan, kibarca hatırlatır.
