Fazla (too) ve yeterince (enough)
Bir şeyin gereğinden fazla, aşırı olduğunu söylerken too; yeterli olduğunu söylerken enough kullanırız.
Kalıba dokun; kelimelerin sırasına dikkat ederek dinle.

Gereğinden fazla (sorun var): too + sıfat
very hot yalnızca «çok sıcak» demektir; iyi bir şey de olabilir. Ancak too hot dediğinde «fazla / aşırı sıcak (içemiyorum, bir sorun var)» demiş olursun.
too her zaman sıfatın hemen önüne gelir (too hot, too small, too full):
Neden olmuyor? Çünkü «too …»
too + hotThe water in the pot is too hot.
Tenceredeki su fazla sıcak.
too + smallThis cardboard box is too small for the cat.
Bu karton kutu kedi için fazla küçük.

En sık hata: It is too much hot ya da too much expensive demek. hot ve expensive sıfattır; sıfatın önüne much girmez → doğrudan too hot · too expensive denir.
Kime göre fazla olduğunu eklemek istersen sıfattan sonra for … kullanırsın: This box is too small for the cat.
very ↔ too farkı
Sıfatın önünde yalnız too durur; too much + sıfat kullanılmaz.

enough’ın iki yeri: big enough ↔ enough money
İşte İngilizcenin en önemli sıra kuralı: enough bir sıfatla kullanıldığında sıfatın arkasına geçer (big enough, warm enough).
Bir isimle (para, yemek, zaman, sandalye) kullanıldığında ise ismin önünde durur (enough money, enough food):
Yeterince büyük mü, yeterli yemek var mı?

Bu kutu kedi için yeterince büyük.
not + sıfat + enoughThe small box isn’t big enough.
Küçük kutu yeterince büyük değil.

En sık hata: Türkçede «yeterince büyük, yeterince sıcak» dediğimiz için İngilizcede de enough big, enough warm demek. Sıfat varsa enough her zaman arkaya geçer: big enough · warm enough!
Aynı durumu iki yolla söyleyebilirsin: The box is too small (Kutu fazla küçük) = The box isn’t big enough (Kutu yeterince büyük değil).
Altın sıra kuralı: sıfat + enough ↔ enough + isim
too small (fazla küçük) = not big enough (yeterince büyük değil).
