Olumlu cümlede ve emirde vurgu: do · does · did + yalın fiil (V1)
Normalde do, does, did yardımcı fiilleri yalnız soru ve olumsuz cümlede görünür. Olumlu bir cümlede «gerçekten, kesinlikle» vurgusu yapmak ya da bir şüpheye itiraz etmek istediğimizde fiilin önüne do / does / did + yalın fiil (V1) getiririz.
Emir cümlesinin başına gelen Do + V1 ise daveti ya da ricayı çok daha sıcak, içten ve kibar yapar: Do sit down! («Buyurun, lütfen oturun!»).

emphatic do — Olumlu cümlede ya da emirde anlamı güçlendirmek için yalın fiilin önüne getirilen vurgulu do / does / did.
intonation — Tonlama; konuşurken vurgulanan yardımcı fiilde sesin yükseltilip bastırılması.
Öne alma (Fronting): Strange as it may seem · This I cannot accept
İngilizcede normal sıra Özne + Fiil + Nesne biçimindedir. C1 düzeyinde bir nesneyi ya da sıfatı özellikle vurgulamak istediğimizde onu cümlenin en başına çekeriz; buna öne alma (fronting) denir.
Nesne başa alındığında (This I cannot accept) özne ile fiil yer değiştirmez. Sıfat başa alındığında ise çoğunlukla Sıfat + as / though + özne + may + fiil kalıbı kullanılır: Strange as it may seem, the plan worked.
KısayolNesne öne alındığında cümle soru gibi devrik yapılmaz (This I can’t, This can’t I değil).

Ne kadar tuhaf görünse de kedi açık kitapların üstünde uyumayı seviyor.

Testten önce bunları bil
- Olumlu cümlede ve emirde vurgu: do · does · did + yalın fiil (V1)
En sık hata: I did told you! ya da She does looks tired. Zaman ve kişi çekimini does / did zaten üstlendiği için ana fiil her zaman yalın (V1) kalır: I did tell you!, She does look tired.

Konuşmada bu yapının doğal duyulması için do / does / did kelimesi belirgin bir tonlama (intonation) ve ses vurgusuyla söylenir.
- Öne alma (Fronting): Strange as it may seem · This I cannot accept
Dikkat: Nesneyi başa çektiğimizde (This I can’t accept) olumsuz zarflarla yapılan devrik cümledeki (Never have I…) gibi yardımcı fiil öznenin önüne geçmez: This I can’t accept (This can’t I accept yanlıştır).
